Véro’s Bali: Home, Heart & Island Life
Bali is another place that holds a very special place in Véro’s heart. It is not simply somewhere she loves to visit — it is family, memories, creativity and home.
Véro's family has had a home in Bali for years, and it is also where Véro got married. She has spent so much time on the island that she knows the Bali beyond the beautiful hotels and Instagram spots — the quiet places, the incredible people, the beaches, the food and the spiritual side of the island.
Bali has also been an important part of the Bohème story.
As a sustainable brand, we believe that creating beautifully should also mean giving back. Bohème is proudly connected to the Shanti Foundation, founded by Véro’s father-in-law, which supports different projects across Bali, including Permata Hati in Ubud and the Bali Eastern Poverty Project.
So when we talk about Bali, we are not just talking about a destination. We are talking about a place that has been part of our lives for decades.
Nusa Dua — The Family Side of Bali
For a quieter and more private Bali experience, start in Nusa Dua.
This is where you can slow down, spend time by the sea and experience another side of the island. And if you want the ultimate Véro experience, you can even stay at the Véro family home, Shanti Residence.
From Nusa Dua, it is easy to explore the south of the island, from the beaches to Uluwatu.
Uluwatu — Cliffs, Ocean & Parties
Uluwatu is where Bali becomes wild and spectacular.
The cliffs, the ocean and the sunsets are unforgettable. For a serious beach-club experience, Savaya Bali is the place to know. Perched dramatically above the Indian Ocean, it has become one of the island’s biggest destinations for international DJs, long lunches and legendary parties.
And if you are there for Day Zero, expect the energy to go up another level. It is one of those Bali experiences where you realise that the island can be both completely peaceful and completely wild — sometimes on the same day.
For somewhere more intimate and spectacular, The Edge is another unforgettable choice, perched high above the cliffs with extraordinary ocean views.
And for a beautiful Uluwatu stay, Alila Villas Uluwatu is very much the Bohème mood: contemporary architecture, nature, space and that incredible feeling of being suspended above the sea.
Seminyak — Fashion, Food & The W Bali
Then there is Seminyak, which has always had a special place in our Bali story.
The W Bali – Seminyak has been a long-time favourite, and Bohème has had its collection curated there for many years. It is glamorous without taking itself too seriously — exactly the kind of energy that works so well with the brand.
Just opposite, you will find Anouki, one of my favourite places for swimwear and beachwear in Bali. The brand has developed an international following, and it is exactly the kind of independent, fashion-forward label I love discovering.
And for a classic piece of Bali history, there is The Legian Bali. Elegant, timeless and beautifully located on the beach, it remains one of those hotels that feels synonymous with the island’s sophisticated side.
Eat Your Way Around Bali
Bali is impossible to experience without eating.
For a relaxed but sophisticated meal, Mama San in Seminyak is always a favourite — great Asian flavours, a beautiful atmosphere and the kind of place where you can stay much longer than planned.
For something more beachfront and relaxed, SALT at Amankila is worth the journey when you are ready to escape the south.
And in Uluwatu, The Rock Bar at AYANA is a classic for a reason. Dramatically positioned above the ocean, it is one of those places where the sunset becomes part of the dinner.
For me, though, Bali is also about finding the small places: a warung, fresh fruit, a coconut on the beach, a late lunch after swimming. You don’t always need a reservation.
The Massage You Cannot Miss
And then there is the Bali ritual that should be compulsory: a massage.
For something really special, I love Bodyworks . Inspired by the colours, architecture and atmosphere of Rajasthan, it feels completely transportive. Beautiful, peaceful and deeply relaxing.
After a few hours there, you forget what day it is — which is exactly the point.
Nusa Lembongan — Escape
When Bali feels too busy, take the boat to Nusa Lembongan.
This is where I go when I want the island feeling without the traffic, the crowds and the noise. Stay somewhere small and intimate, with a villa overlooking the water, and spend your days swimming, diving, eating and doing absolutely nothing.
Sometimes the best Bali plan is no plan at all.
Munduk — The Secret Bali
One of my more recent discoveries is Munduk, in the mountains of northern Bali.
This is a completely different landscape: misty mountains, jungle, waterfalls, coffee plantations and cooler air.
We actually travelled to Munduk for a Bohème shoot for Amazonia, and it was the perfect setting. The lush green landscape and natural textures gave the collection an entirely different energy.
For somewhere extraordinary to stay, look at Elevate Bali. Perched in the mountains, surrounded by nature, it feels like a complete escape from the rest of the island.

Bali Through Bohème
Bali has been part of Bohème from the beginning — not only as a place where we have photographed collections, but as a source of inspiration.
We have shot jewellery in the jungle, by the ocean, in the mountains and underwater. The island has given us colours, textures, light and stories that continue to appear in our collections.
From Amazonia in Munduk to our ocean shoots, Bali has become part of the visual language of Bohème.
And perhaps that is why Bali feels so natural for the brand.
Bohème is about travelling, discovering, creating and connecting — but also about giving something back.
Bali has given us so much over the years.
It will always be one of the places we are proud to call home.
